Once upon a time…
Drawn from: Northern Europe, Karadzic Ballads, Mentor, enchanting a disenchanted world. Told in English.
In a land where the northern lights danced across the sky, there was a village where shadows never fell. The people lived in constant daylight, their lives bright but devoid of mystery and magic. One day, a wandering bard arrived, speaking of a hidden cave where darkness was trapped in a crystal.
Young Ingrid, curious and brave, set off to find it. She trekked through frost-laden forests and across icy rivers, guided by the whispers of ancient trees. At the cave's mouth, she found the crystal, glowing with a deep, shadowy hue. As she touched it, the shadows burst forth, weaving through the air like a forgotten song.
The village was cast into twilight, stars twinkling overhead for the first time. The people gathered, awe-struck, as stories of old magic returned to their hearts. Ingrid, now a hero, had brought back the balance between light and dark. The village learned to cherish the shadows, for they made the light shine brighter. And thus, the land was re-enchanted, its stories alive once more.
Did it land?
