Once upon a time…

Once, in the time when gods and mortals shared the world, there was a small fishing village nestled along the rocky coast of a vast, ancient sea. The villagers believed that the sea was alive, a giant creature that could grant fortune or fury. They called it the Whispering Deep, for its waves sang secrets only the brave dared to hear.
In this village lived a young fisherman named Lysander. He was known for his courage and his love for the sea, often venturing farther than others dared. One evening, as the sun dipped below the horizon, Lysander heard the sea's whispers more clearly than ever before. The voice spoke of a hidden island, shrouded in mist, where the golden scales of a legendary fish could be found. These scales, it was said, could heal any ailment and bring prosperity to those who possessed them.
Driven by the promise of such a treasure, Lysander set sail at dawn, guided by the whispers of the sea. For days he navigated through treacherous waters, where the currents twisted like serpents and the winds howled like banshees. Yet, the whispers never ceased, urging him onward.
On the third day, as the fog thickened around him, Lysander glimpsed the outline of an island. It was a place untouched by time, with lush greenery and strange birds that sang songs unknown to any man. As he stepped ashore, the sea fell silent, as if holding its breath.
Lysander explored the island, following a path lined with flowers that glowed like embers in the twilight. At the heart of the island, he found a tranquil lake, its waters as clear as glass. There, beneath the surface, swam the fish of legend, its scales shimmering like a thousand suns.
But as Lysander reached for the fish, a voice echoed from the depths. It was the spirit of the Whispering Deep, warning him that the scales were not to be taken lightly. They came with a price: the loss of something dear. Lysander paused, his heart heavy with the weight of the choice.
In that moment, he realized the true treasure was not the scales, but the journey itself and the wisdom he had gained. With a respectful nod to the spirit, Lysander turned away, leaving the island and its secrets untouched.
Returning to his village, Lysander shared his tale, and the villagers listened in awe. From that day on, they spoke of the Whispering Deep not with fear, but with reverence, knowing it was a keeper of mysteries and lessons for those who dared to listen.
