Once upon a time…
Drawn from: FRP World, in the future, Guide, Man vs Old Age Conflict. Told in English.
In a time beyond the stars, in the lands where the sun kissed the mountains each dawn, there lived a man named Eldrin. He was known throughout the valleys and forests as the greatest warrior of his age. Eldrin had faced fierce beasts and cunning foes, and always he returned to his village with tales of victory and glory. His strength was like the mighty river that carved through the land, and his courage was the fire that warmed the hearts of his people.
But as the seasons turned, Eldrin felt a change. The once easy lift of his sword grew heavy, and the swift dance of his feet slowed. The whispers of the wind spoke of time’s passage, and the shadows lengthened in his eyes. Eldrin, who had never known fear, now feared the quiet creeping of old age.
One night, as the silver moon watched over the world, Eldrin climbed the high hill where the wise lived. There, he sought the counsel of the Oracle, an ancient spirit who knew the secrets of the world. The Oracle’s voice was like the rustle of leaves in the wind, gentle yet full of power.
“Why do you seek me, Eldrin?” the Oracle asked, her eyes deep as the night sky.
“I seek a way to turn back time,” Eldrin replied. “I wish to remain strong and unyielding, as I have always been.”
The Oracle smiled, a knowing smile that seemed to hold the wisdom of ages. “Time is a river, Eldrin. It flows in one direction, and none can turn its course. But there is a path, hidden in the forest of shadows, where the Tree of Renewal grows. Its fruit may grant what you seek.”
With hope in his heart, Eldrin set out on his journey. He traveled through dark woods where the trees whispered secrets of the past, and across barren lands where the bones of ancient creatures lay. Finally, he reached the forest of shadows, a place where even the bravest dared not tread.
In the heart of this forest stood the Tree of Renewal, its branches heavy with golden fruit. Eldrin approached, his hand reaching for the promise of youth. But as he touched the fruit, a voice echoed through the trees.
“Why do you seek to defy the natural order?” asked the voice, which belonged to the Guardian of the Tree, a creature as old as time itself.
“I wish to remain strong,” Eldrin said. “To fight and protect my people as I always have.”
The Guardian’s eyes, like pools of still water, held Eldrin’s gaze. “Strength is not only of the body. True strength lies in wisdom, in knowing when to fight and when to yield. You have lived a life of valor, Eldrin. Now, learn to live a life of wisdom.”
Eldrin stood silent, the weight of the Guardian’s words heavy upon him. He realized that his fear of old age was not of the body’s weakness, but of the unknown path ahead. He understood that his life’s journey was not ending, but changing.
With a bowed head, Eldrin turned away from the Tree, leaving its fruit untouched. He returned to his village, where the people welcomed him with open arms. Eldrin shared his tale, teaching his people that there was honor not only in battle, but in peace, in guiding the young, and in cherishing the days given.
As the years passed, Eldrin became a sage, his stories and wisdom a beacon for his people. They no longer spoke of his battles, but of his insight and kindness. Eldrin learned that old age was not an enemy to be fought, but a friend to be embraced.
And so, under the watchful eyes of the stars, Eldrin lived, not as the warrior he once was, but as a wise elder, loved and respected by all. The tale of Eldrin spread far and wide, a myth of courage, wisdom, and the true strength found in accepting the passage of time.
