Once upon a time…
Drawn from: Sweden, Moral story, Trickster, man looking to do good. Told in English.
In a land of tall trees and quiet lakes, there lived a man named Lars. He was known for his kind heart and strong hands. One day, he heard of a village troubled by a fierce wolf stealing sheep under the moonlight. Determined to help, Lars set out on a journey through the dense forest.
The path was long, and the night was dark, but Lars carried a lantern and a brave heart. He followed the wolf's tracks until he reached a hidden glade. There, he found the wolf caught in a hunter's trap, howling in pain. Lars saw not a beast, but a creature in need.
With care, he freed the wolf, who limped away into the shadows. The next morning, the villagers found their sheep safe and sound. Lars returned, greeted as a hero. He never spoke of the wolf, only of the peace in the forest. And so, the tale of Lars spread, a story of courage and kindness in a land where the trees whispered secrets and the lakes held dreams.
