Once upon a time…
Drawn from: Ultime Thule, The Earl of Murray Ballad, Trickster, searching for an object. Told in English.
In a land where mists hug the cold earth stood a thick, shadowy forest. Through its hidden paths, a bold raven named Hrafn flew. One day, Hrafn overheard a tale from hooting owls of a dazzling gemstone—a Sapphire of eternal light hidden in the ancient pine.
Driven by curiosity, Hrafn set forth. Lakes lay glassy under the sun's shy light, and jagged rocks reached skyward. Through whispers of old aspen tales where streams crooned their satiny music, he flew. Days and nights passed as his sleek wings beat relentless.
In the shadow of twilight, Hrafn found the immense pine. Above, the moonlight played tricks on his eyes. Guided by scents of the green dusk, he delved deep into a hollow branch at the heart of the tree. There, radiating warmth beyond icy winds, the sapphire gleamed true.
With it clasped in his beak, Hrafn returned spinning sky songs. The enchanted wolf pack sang underneath as the hope the Sapphire gifted warmed villages, guardian of ephemeral fables. Hrafn still perches high upon wise trees, weaving light tales 'ere ends night’s embrace.
