Ancient Egyptian tales

Once upon a time…

Drawn from: Ancient Egypt, Chevy Chase Ballad, Trickster, something suitable with period. Told in English.

In the days when the sun's path was watched by wise eyes, a band of brave souls set forth. They heard whispers of a sacred stone, hidden deep within the shifting sands. This stone, they said, could bring prosperity to the land.

The adventurers—three in number—were led by a clever guide. Her knowledge of the desert was unmatched. Beside her walked a strong warrior, his blade sharp and ready. The last was a nimble scribe, quick with words and marks.

They journeyed for many days, facing fierce winds and biting sands. At night, under the gaze of the watchful stars, they shared tales and laughter, strengthening their resolve.

One morning, as the sun rose, they found the stone. It shimmered with ancient power. But, as the guide reached for it, a serpent coiled close by struck.

Yet, the warrior's blade was swifter, saving the day. With the stone in hand, they returned to their people. Songs of their courage echoed in the lands, and prosperity was theirs to share.
