Ancient Egyptian tales

Once upon a time…

In a village beside the mighty river, the sun rose and set, casting shadows long and deep upon the land. We were known as farmers and fishers, living by the rhythm of the waters. One year, the floods did not come. The fields lay barren. The river’s gifts dwindled.

Our elders spoke of a hidden cavern, where a crystal of rain awaited. Guided by stories, we set forth in a small band, determined to save our village. Through the desert we walked, sand whipping our faces, stars guiding our nights.

At last, we reached the towering cliffs. Inside, the cavern sparkled with a light of its own. There, the crystal lay, guarded by a serpent of legend. We sang the old songs, calming the beast, and with trembling hands, we took the crystal.

Returning home, the skies darkened, and rain fell. The river rose, fields thrived, and our people rejoiced. We remembered the journey, the unity, and the promise of the river, for it was not the crystal alone that saved us, but our spirit together.
