Once upon a time…
Drawn from: Heaven, The Earl of Murray Ballad, Guardian, Man vs Meaninglessness Conflict. Told in English.
Once, high above in a place beyond mortal ken, there lived a village of folk. These were not people of the earth as we know them, but they shared our joys and sorrows. Their world was a place of endless fields, filled with light and warmth, where no darkness dared to tread. Yet, not all was as it seemed, for in their hearts brewed a shadow of another kind—the shadow of meaninglessness.
Now, this village had a great tree at its center, roots deep and branches wide, said to hold the secrets of their existence. The folk gathered at the tree to share stories and seek purpose. But, as time went on, the tales grew thin and their spirits restless. They longed for meaning but found none in their endless days.
One day, the eldest of the village, wise and weathered, gathered the people beneath the great tree. "We must seek a purpose beyond what we see," he spoke, his voice steady like the flowing river. The villagers nodded, for they felt the void within. Together, they set out on a journey across their bright lands, seeking answers in the golden hills and shimmering streams.
Their path led them to the edge of a vast cloud sea, the end of all they knew. Here, they paused, uncertain, until a daring soul stepped forward—a young dreamer, eyes full of wonder. "We must leap," the dreamer declared, "for beyond may lie the meaning we seek." The villagers hesitated, fear in their hearts, but the dreamer’s courage burned bright. One by one, inspired, they followed.
Through the cloud sea, they fell, not into darkness, but into a realm of dazzling colors and sounds, unlike any they had known. Here, they met beings of light and shadow, who whispered truths and mysteries to them. The villagers listened and learned that meaning was not found in endless light alone, but in the dance of light and shadow, in the stories they shared and the dreams they dared to dream.
With newfound understanding, the villagers returned to their home, changed and whole. They gathered once more beneath the great tree, where their tales grew rich and their hearts full. In the sharing of their journey and the bonds they forged, they found the purpose they had sought.
So, in the land above, the folk lived on, realizing that meaning came not from the world around them, but from the journeys within their souls and the stories that connected them all.
