Once upon a time…
Drawn from: Lascaux Cave, Kalavela Myth, Superhuman Helper, last moments before parting with a friend for a long time. Told in English.
In the days long past, when the world was young and spirits roamed the earth, there lived two friends in a village nestled among the hills and forests. One was a hunter named Ravo, known for his keen eye and steady hand. The other was a painter called Liora, beloved for bringing life to stone walls with colors that danced under flickering flames. Their bond was strong, as they shared laughter and dreams under the vast arch of sky.
But a time came when Ravo had to journey far beyond the hills, to a place whispered of in legends—a land where the sun rose from the ground and the stars sang at night. Ravo's heart was torn, for he did not wish to leave Liora or the world they knew. Yet, the call was strong, and his spirit restless.
On the eve of his departure, under the pale light of the crescent moon, Ravo and Liora met in the heart of the sacred cave, where the stories of their people were etched into stone. The air was thick with unspoken words as shadows danced upon the walls. Ravo spoke first, his voice steady yet laced with sorrow.
"My dear friend, though I must leave, the stories we made will keep us close. Remember the hunt we shared by the great river and the fires we lit beneath the starlit sky." Liora nodded, their eyes shimmering like the waters of a hidden spring. "I will paint your journey, the places you see, and the spirits you meet. So, even when you are far, you will be here."
Together, they stood before a wall where Liora had painted the tales of their adventures: the great stag hunt, the wild dance under the aurora, and the night they spoke to the moon. Ravo touched the paintings, each stroke a memory, each line a bond that could not be broken by distance or time.
As dawn's first light crept into the cave, Ravo embraced Liora one last time. "Until we meet again, in this life or the next," Ravo whispered, his voice a promise carried by the wind. Liora watched as Ravo's figure grew small against the waking world, leaving only footprints behind.
In the quiet that followed, Liora took up a brush, and with gentle hands, painted a new story—a story of parting and the hope of return, a story of friendship eternal, captured on stone to stand against time's endless tide. And thus, the tale endures, whispered by the winds to those who listen, a reminder of bonds that distance cannot sever.
