Drawn from: Northern Europe, Moral story, Guide, something suitable with geography. Told in English.

Long ago, in a land of deep forests and icy seas, there lived a young hunter named Erik. One day, while tracking a deer through the woods, he stumbled upon a hidden valley shrouded in mist. In the center stood a silver tree, its branches glistening like stars.

Erik felt drawn to the tree and reached for its fruit, but a raven swooped down, cawing, “Beware, mortal. The fruit is guarded by the spirits of the forest.” Erik, brave yet respectful, asked the raven how he might earn the fruit. The raven replied, “Show your heart’s courage.”

Determined, Erik ventured deeper into the woods, where he faced a fierce wolf. With steady hands and a gentle voice, he calmed the beast, earning its trust. The wolf led him back to the valley, where the spirits awaited.

Seeing his courage and kindness, the spirits granted him the gift. Erik returned home, wiser and richer in spirit, sharing the tale of the silver tree. The story of Erik’s adventure became legend, reminding all of the power of courage and respect.
