Once upon a time…
Drawn from: Northern Europe, Carpenter's Story, Guardian, Feeling of trying to remember a distant memory. Told in English.
You stand at the edge of the vast dark wood, the air thick with the scent of pine. The stars twinkle above, whispering tales of old. A feeling stirs within you, a memory, just out of reach. You step forward, your feet crunching on fallen leaves, drawn by the call of something familiar. The path winds like a serpent, leading you deeper into shadow.
Suddenly, you find yourself before a massive oak, its branches stretching wide like welcoming arms. At its roots lies a small, moss-covered chest. You feel you must open it, though you cannot remember why. Your fingers trace the carvings on its surface, symbols that spark a flicker of recognition.
Lifting the lid, you discover a simple carved wooden horse, worn by the years. It fits perfectly in your hand, and with it, a flood of memories return. Laughter, the warmth of the hearth, a promise made long ago. You remember now. With the horse tucked close, you head homeward, finally at peace.
Did it land?
