Norse and Nordic tales

Once upon a time…

Drawn from: Sweden, Sea Dayaks, Guardian, Curiosity of exploration. Told in English.

I remember the day the sea called to me. The village was quiet, wrapped in a whispering mist, and the tales of old rang in my mind. They spoke of ships with carved beasts, slicing through the cold waters. My heart longed for the unknown.

With a few brave souls, we crafted a vessel, sturdy and swift. We set sail, guided by stars, the wind our constant companion. The sea was alive, singing songs of forgotten lands. My companions and I faced waves taller than trees and winds sharp as winter's breath.

Days bled into nights, and just as hope began to thin, the horizon revealed a land draped in green and gold. We found fields with flowers like sunlit jewels, creatures unknown to us scurrying in the underbrush.

Our hearts, once restless, brimmed with wonder. We had touched the edge of the world, whispered to by the sea. And as we turned homeward, our minds were rich with tales to share, adventures woven into our souls forever.
