Once upon a time…
Drawn from: Byzantine Empire, Kurnai People's Myths, Superhuman Helper, something suitable with theme. Told in English.
In a land where the sun glinted off domed roofs and call to prayers echoed through narrow streets, there lived a spirited young man named Theo. He dreamed of adventure beyond the bustling market and crowded alleys. One evening, he overheard whispers of a hidden treasure guarded by an ancient creature in the distant mountains.
Theo set off, his heart full of courage, carrying only a trusty dagger and a sack of stale bread. Days passed, and he braved storms and rocky paths until he stood at the mountain's base. There, an old hermit warned him: "The beast sleeps beyond, but its gaze turns men to stone."
Undeterred, Theo crept into the lair. He found the beast sleeping, its scales shimmering like jewels. With nimble fingers, he reached for the treasure—a golden talisman—but the beast stirred. Theo froze, heart pounding, as it opened its eyes.
Yet luck favored him; the creature saw only its reflection in the talisman. Using the distraction, Theo fled, carrying the treasure back to his people, forever hailed as a hero.
Did it land?
