Once upon a time…
Drawn from: Ottoman Empire, Grimm Brothers, Mentor, Man vs Man Conflict. Told in English.
In a land of minarets and bustling bazaars, I found myself amid a tale of honor and deceit. I was a simple merchant, selling woven carpets in the market. One day, a wealthy noble, draped in rich silks, accused me of selling him a flawed rug. He demanded compensation or my life.
Seeking justice, I traveled to the palace of the Sultan. His court was a place where stories of truth and falsehood were woven daily. A wise vizier took an interest in my plight and decided to test us both. We were given one task—to find the most valuable treasure without spending a single coin.
The noble tried bribery and lies, but I wandered into the streets, listening to the tales of the people. I returned with a story of hope from a widow, a tale that warmed the Sultan's heart.
The noble was exposed as a deceiver, and I was rewarded with honor and gold. In this way, my tale of truth and perseverance became a story for the ages.
