Once upon a time…
Drawn from: Tokugawa Shogunate, Karadzic Ballads, Trickster, Feeling of longing for home. Told in English.
In a land of rising suns and whispering winds, I wandered far from my village by the river. Duty called me to serve the great lord, where the mountains met the sky. Days turned into moons, and my heart yearned for the cherry blossoms of my home.
One night, under the watchful eye of the crescent moon, I met an old traveler. His tales of distant lands awoke my longing for the familiar. As we shared rice and sake, he spoke of a path through the hidden forest, a secret way back home.
The next morning, with resolve as my only companion, I journeyed through dense woods and across singing streams. The forest seemed alive, guiding me with unseen hands. Memories of laughter and song fueled my steps.
Finally, the scent of cherry blossoms filled the air, and the gentle flow of the river called my name. As I crossed the last hill, my village came into view. Home, sweet and beloved, where tales of old awaited my return. My heart was at peace once more.
Did it land?
