Slavic tales

Once upon a time…

Drawn from: Eastern European, Barbara Allen Ballad, Mentor, Danger of exploration. Told in English.

In a village at the edge of a dense, whispering forest, there was a young man named Luka. Known for his curious heart, Luka often listened to tales of hidden treasures deep within the ancient woods. One misty morning, he set out alone, guided by the songs of birds and the rumors of gold.

As he ventured deeper, the trees grew taller, their branches weaving a cathedral of shadows. Luka's path was tangled with roots and veiled in fog, but he pressed on, driven by stories of riches unseen. Along the way, he met a fox with eyes like amber, watching him silently. Luka remembered the tales, speaking of such creatures as guides.

Trusting the fox, Luka followed it through winding paths, avoiding hidden traps and dark pits. At last, they arrived at a clearing where the sun pierced through, revealing a sparkling spring. There, Luka found not gold, but a sense of wonder and peace.

With the fox as his friend, Luka returned home, richer in spirit, his thirst for adventure quenched by the enchantment of the forest.
