In a land of thick forests and quiet lakes, there lived a young woman named Egle. Her days were spent gathering herbs and berries, her feet tracing paths through the dense woodlands. One day, while wandering deeper than ever before, she heard a rustle – a serpent, large and gleaming, blocking her path. It spoke, asking for her hand in marriage in exchange for safe passage.
Egle, frightened but curious, agreed, thinking she would never see the serpent again. Yet, he returned to claim her as promised. Torn between fear and the oath she gave, Egle went with him. To her surprise, the serpent transformed into a handsome man in the depths of the forest, revealing himself to be the spirit of the woods.
Living amongst nature, Egle learned the secrets of the forest, the rhythms of the earth. She grew strong and wise, wielding the power of the woods as her own. When a great storm threatened to destroy everything, Egle called upon the forest spirits, saving her home and proving one can find strength in unexpected places.
